5 Ways to Use the Hydrating Buttercream

Greetings Daizies,

Hopefully by now you have been able to try the Hydrating Buttercream! For the past 3 months, it has been a staple in my natural hair routine and even my skincare routine. Ordering is easy, just head over to the Shop tab on this site to order yours today! So just what are the ways you can use this moisturizer? Let me share with you my favorite ways.

Rich moisturizer in the morning

The Hydrating Buttercream is amazing as a daily moisturizer. I start off my morning by applying a small amount of buttercream throughout my hair, and especially to my ends. Since it’s made with shea butter and other natural oils like sweet almond oil and castor oil, the cream practically melts in my hand. I either style my hair in some twists or a high puff.

As a gentle moisturizer for my skin, morning and night

After applying the CeraVe hydrating cleanser to my face for 60 seconds, and then using a toner, I hydrate my face with a small amount of buttercream. I’m trying to be more consistent with wearing a sunscreen daily as well.

Right after wash day and on soaking wet hair

I love sealing the amazingness of a good wash day by applying the Hydrating Buttercream to my hair after deep conditioning. I section my hair into 4 sections, and rub the product onto my palms to then apply to one section in a light clumping motion. This method helps to maintain frizz-free defined. I find that disrupting my hair as least as possible helps to let my natural curls pattern shine. After clumping my hair, I apply a light oil like coconut oil or olive oil to my ends, and as I’m braiding my hair to stretch it at night.

As a detangler and styler

For a beautiful twist out style as pictured above, I use the Hydrating Buttercream to detangle my hair so that the twists are smooth and neat. For each section, I moisturize my hair with the LOC/LCO layering technique and start with a (L)eave in conditioner, (C)ream – Hydrating Buttercream, and end with an oil, usually olive oil.

Soothe scalp and promote hair growth

Throughout the week I give myself a lovely scalp massage to help sooth my scalp from itching and promote hair growth. The essential oils, like frankincense oil and rosemary oil, are infused in the Hydrating Buttercream aid in promoting scalp health and fostering a healthy environment for the production of new follicles.
